Second-generation Broadband Access Solution (EN3011 - Network Controller/EN3230 - Client Premise Equipment)
Entropic's second generation Broadband Access solution is comprised of the EN3011 Network Controller and the EN3230 Client Premise Equipment (CPE) silicon. This solution uses this technology for point to multipoint networks and in this generation, a single Broadband Access solution provides over 250 Mbps of raw data bandwidth yielding over 100 Mbps of application throughput. It was designed as a low-cost, easy-to-deploy solution using the existing coax infrastructure already found in multi-dwelling units (MDUs) and single family housing (SFUs).
| Features | Benefits |
| Reliability | Based on the field proven MoCA® (Multimedia over Coax) 1.1 chipset |
| High Performance | Data capacity per channel is > 120 Mbps throughput in a 64-node network |
| System Scalability | Achieved by offering High Radio Frequency (RF) architecture that can scale to up to five (5) channels on a single coaxial cable. Our solution provides frequency agility between 800 MHz and 1500 MHz, additional NCs can be added to support even more clients on the network |
| Bandwidth Management and Support for Quality of Service (QoS) Performance Attributes |
With rate adaptation, VLAN & multicast filtering support, system upstream and downstream rate control, client node data rate limits and committed rates and support for IEEE 802.1p priorities |
| Network security | Achieved through hardware DES encryption for network privacy and network coordinator access control of the client nodes |
| Single chip c.LINK controller | For coax-based access networks |
